Our team is really more like a family! We all work together from start to finish. We are not a commission based business which is wonderful because our customers never feel pressured. We encourage them to work with whoever makes them feel most comfortable. This results in the best collaboration ensuring a smooth design process.
Our History
Susan Haas began the Strawflower Shop & Rug Merchant based on her passion for antiques and floral design
in 1976. Her exceptional taste in fabrics and design naturally led her into the home decorating business. Now not only providing floral design, the business has expanded to handling furniture and accessory lines all handpicked by Susie and her husband Mike. Mike specializes in helping you to achieve your vision for your home. From furniture to home accessories, he enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise of fine furniture companies and exceptional hand knot rugs.
The Strawflower Shop & Rug Merchant provided the first of its kind, all-inclusive home design company in the fox valley region. Awarded in Chicago for its silk floral arrangements and design along with interior furnishing. We have participated in the prestigious Fox Valley Luxury Home Tour, Cavalcade of Homes and Chicago Luxury Home Tour.
